About the Collection

The Crocker hosts one of the state’s premier collections of Californian art, dating from the Gold Rush to the present day, a collection of master drawings, European paintings, one of the largest international ceramics collections in the U.S. and collections of Asian, African, and Oceanic art.

“Fantasia Teapot”, 2007 was acquired by the museum in 2018, as part of a major gift by the Kohler Foundation. The piece was selected for its correlation with the museum’s renown for its international collection of ceramics.

The piece is on display at the Crocker Art Museum in “Cool Clay: Recent Acquisitions of Contemporary Ceramics”, as part of their exhibition highlighting recent acquisions of contemporary Ceramics.
